When attempting to create a new department, and an error like the one(Inserting of Departments is currently not allowed) below pops-up know that clients are not permitted to create new departments.
This is a bad idea because there would have to be duplicate tests, profiles, ranges, cost codes, comments, etc. which would the management and maintenance of the dictionary so much more difficult and time consuming. How duplicate tests and profiles would create issues with interfacing to other systems, like ordering items via LOINC codes, etc. Explaining that it is advisable to stick with to one's setup in LOINC, etc.
LOINC is important and governments and large interconnected systems are moving to HL7 FHIR
