Process for Inter Lab/Site specimen transfers


Inter Site Transfer is when a test is ordered at one site and performed at another site at labs that have multiple sites.


Lists>Specimen Transfer

Set up


Go to:

Test Management> select a test> click on Edit> click on the Test Ordering tab.

Test Ordering is used to setup where a test must be performed IF it is not going to be performed at that specific Order site. NOTE: the start and end time are not used.

The Lists > Specimen Transfer page can be used/printed to generate a “shipping list” of specimens for a specific Order site to a specific Perform Site, for a specific date range



The labs should use the Specimen > Test Tracking to track which department and tests they are tracking so that preLink shows where the specimen was last tracked and used.
