This will allow you to alert a patient when their laboratory results are ready or automatically Email the patient when the results are ready. (I.E.: The test has been completed and Signed Off)


Quick Guide:

1.  Edit Test and select Alert Patient

2.  Ensure Auto Reporting is active in Client Management

3.  Ensure to capture either mobile number

(For both SMS and Email)

This can be activated per test, in Test Management select a test, click on 'Edit' scroll down to 'General Setup', and set 'Alert Patient' to 'Yes'.



 

If the patient doesn’t have a Mobile number captured, it will use the guarantor's Mobile number. If they are both blank then no SMS will be sent.




NOTE: Result SMS will NOT send any test marked as “Confidential: Yes” in Test Management!



2.  Administration>Client Management (for both SMS and Email)


Specify which Clients (Doctor/Hospital) patients should receive an SMS


Also, ensure to activate auto reporting for the Doctor in Client Management, please see the Client Management article on how to set up Auto Reporting.


 



3.  Patient SMS type:


The patient can either be alerted to contact their physician or receive an SMS with the actual results of tests performed to activate one of the two options:


Administration>General>System Configuration>SMS Setup (for SMS only)



N.B.:  Auto SMS or Email of result will only occur after the results have been signed off by the Laboratory.
