The Print Route Management module is used for routing (directing) printing, used by other preLink modules, to a printer that has been set up for a certain purpose, e.g. report printing, in the laboratory, and also at other locations, e.g. a doctor/client's office.


To access this module, navigate to "Administration > General > Printing > Print Routing", as shown below. 




This will bring you to the following screen:




Create a New Print Route


  • Click on "+ Add new record".


The following options will appear on the screen:



  • Enter the Print Route Name (E.g. Report Printer).
  • Select the Printer from the drop-down list.
  • Click on "Insert" (or click on "Cancel" to cancel changes and return to the Print Route Management screen).


Note: To add a doctor location, you need to edit the print route in on the Print Route Management screen (see below).



Edit a Print Route & Add/Edit Doctor Locations


On the Print Route Management screen:


  • Click on "Edit" on a print route .


The following options, and tabs, will appear on the screen:



In the "Details" tab (shown above):


  • Edit the required details, if necessary.
  • After editing, click on "Update" (or click on "Cancel" to cancel changes and return to the Print Route Management screen).


Note: Clicking on "Cancel" after clicking on "Update" will not cancel changes.



Add Doctor Location


  • Click on the "Doctor Locations" tab.


The following screen will appear:



  • Enter a doctor/clients name, or practice code, in the Search field, and click on "Search". 
  • Tick the checkbox next to the doctor/clients name in the "Available Doctors" list on the left.
  • Click on the "Add" button (in the middle, above the lists) as indicated below.



To remove a Doctor/client location:


  • Tick the checkbox next to the doctor/clients name in the "Doctors Allocated to this Route" list on the right.
  • Click on the "Remove" button (in the middle, above the lists) as indicated below.



  • Once editing is complete, click on the "Details" tab and click on "Update" to update the  information and return to the Print Route Management screen.



Delete a Print Route


On the Print Route Management screen:


  • Click on "Edit" on a print route.
  • Click on "Delete" on the "Details" tab.
  • Click on "OK" in the pop up confirmation box.
