EDI Errors

When you login to preLink, you see the dashboard:

The purple block in the bottom right corner shows the number of “requests with edi errors”. EDI errors are for any interface that is trying to send out data to a third party, service provider, etc. In this case it would be the NICD. It could also be interfaces to Medical Aids, Vodacom (if you did insurance work for life insurance companies), etc.

If you click on that purple block, it will load the “EDI Failures” page:

It will give you the list of requests and an error message for each one. Here you can see “Patient Address details are incomplete”.

You can then:

1.    Click on a requests’ row and it will open the View Request page in a new tab

2.    You can either capture a Patient address or a Patient and a Guarantor address.

       a.    You only really need to enter a Patient address if it is different to the Guarantor address

       b.    If you capture just the Guarantor address, e.g. the patient is the Guarantor or stays with the Guarantor, then that               address is copied into the Patient Address as well when we generate the data for NICD.

3.    Don’t forget to click “Update” to save it

4.    You then return to the EDI Failures tab/page and click that little refresh icon (the arrows in a circle) next to the error                 message (for the request you just updated).

       a.  It will set the flag status to “Pending” so that preLink can attempt to generate it again

       b.  If all required information is there, (Patient Address, Contact Number, Collection Data), then preLink will send it to the              NICD.
