On the preLink menu bar, select "Administration > Test Management > Calculated Tests" as shown below.
This will bring you to the following screen:
To add a new Calculated Test, click on "+ Add new record". The following setup window will appear beneath the list:
Step 1: Calculation Setup
- Select the "Test to Result To" from the drop down list containing all the tests on the preLink LIMS.
Note: This will also be the Calculated Test's name in the list. - Tick (or leave blank) the Same Run Only checkbox.
- Tick (or leave blank) the Non Numerical Equation checkbox.
- Type the equation into the "Equation:" field.
Note: As stated, the equation is case sensitive. Make sure the variables have accurate upper/lower case characters, the same as the Tests. - Click on "Insert".
Step 2: Equation Variables
Once the Calculated Test has been created, you can now add the variables of the equation.
- Click on "Edit" to the far right of the newly created Calculated Test in the list. The Equation Variable setup window will appear alongside the Calculation Setup window (as shown above).
- In the Equation Variables window, select the test for a specific variable in the equation from the "Test:" drop down list.
- In the "Variable:" field, type the variable that represents this test in the equation.
- Click on "Add Variable" to add the variable.
- Repeat this process for all other variables in the equation.
- Click on "Delete" to the right of a variable to delete it from the list.
Edit/delete Calculated Test
- Click on "Edit" to the far right of a Calculated Test in the list.
- Edit the required details, and then click on "Update"
- To delete a Calculated Test, click on "Delete" in the Calculation Setup window, and then click on "OK" in the confirmation pop-up.
