Double click on the preLink Print Station application icon on your desktop to open it.
Click on "Setup..." in the "Options" drop-down menu.
The following options window will appear:
General Setup
preLink Web Address: Enter the company/laboratory preLink IP address or URL (i.e. the same IP/URL address as the preLink LIMS, shown in the address bar of your browser). Press "Enter" on the key board to connect.
Station: After connecting to the preLink IP/URL, select an available Print Station from the drop-down list.
Passcode: Contains the unique passcode for the Print Station. Click on "Authenticate" after entering the passcode to activate the Print Station.
If the passcode fails to authenticate, it means it is not the correct Passcode.
Note: The Print Station passcode can be found in the preLink LIMS by navigating to "Administration > General > Site Admin > Station Management > Print Station". Only users with the Administrator role can access or change the passcode.
Auto print pending barcodes: Tick the checkbox to allow the automatic printing of pending barcodes (recommended for automatic printing of barcodes after completing the a request capture.
Printer Setup
Printer: Shows the barcode printer selected. You can change the print margin of the barcodes with the "Left Margin" & "Top Margin" fields.
Click on "Select Printer" and select the barcode printer used by the Print Station from the pop-up list window.
Barcode/Label Configuration
Select the label size and amount of information that the barcode must print using options 1, 2 & 3.
Webservice Mode: Set the barcode printer to "Retrieve Orders" (recommended) or "Reprint only".
Note: "Retrieve Orders" is for the printing of barcodes containing the information of patients captured in the Data Capture process). "Reprint Only" is for printers that will only be used for creating duplicate barcodes of already captured requests.
Barcode Reader Setup
Select the first or second option according to the method in which the Print Station is physically interfaced with the Capture Station.
Com Port: The communication (com) port number used if connected via Serial RS232.
Complete the Setup
To complete the setup click on "OK" at the bottom of the options window, or "Cancel" to cancel all changes and exit.
