Select "Worksheets" on the preLink menu bar, as shown below.



This will bring you to the Templated Tests screen and worksheet list.



Here you can search for, manage, view, and print out worksheet templates.


Note: Worksheets/test templates are created (& uploaded) in the Template Management module in the "Administration > Test Management" menu. Users must have the Administrator role to access this module. To view the article click here. 



Search


If the list of worksheets is is very long and/or over multiple pages, you may want to do a quick search. Worksheet templates are listed by their code. 

  • Enter the Code of the worksheet in the search field and click on "Search". 
  • To quickly clear the search field, click on "Clear".



Print Created Templates


To print a worksheet template from the list:


  • Click on "Print Template" on the worksheet in the list (as indicated below).



The Template Run print preview window will then appear over the screen:



Note: Worksheet templates will automatically be created for each request/patient on the preLink system that require the worksheet test. As indicated above, the request barcode, request number, and the patient info will be automatically included.

Thereafter, the worksheet can be scanned with the preLink Image Station, which recognizes the barcode. To view an article on Image Station scanning click here. Also check the last section of this article for further info.


In the print options toolbar above the worksheet (shown below):


 

  • Click on the print icon .


  • The standard/default printing options of the computer in use will then appear, Allowing for printing to a specified printer. 


Saving to Pdf or Image:


  • Select Pdf or Image (.png) on the far right of the toolbar.


  • Click on the save icon to save it to the computer (it should be indicated at the bottom of the browser screen).
    You can also click on the "save with preview" icon  to view a preview upon saving.



Order a New Template


If the worksheet you require is not available in the list, you can order it by clicking on "Order a New Template" at the top, to the right of the search field, as indicated in the screenshot below.



 This will bring you to the Order a New Template screen.



Note: For a quick search, enter the Name of the worksheet template in the search field and click on "Search". 



Preview/Create a New Template


  • Select the template in the list, and click on "Preview/Create".


The following is an example of the options that will appear on the screen:



Note: A message on top will inform you of how many tests require the worksheet. You must preview the worksheet before you can create it.


  • Select the Instrument.
  • Enter the date.
  • Tick the checkbox only if it is a pooled test that requires a Grid setup.
  • Click on "Preview".


The following message will appear:



  • Click on "here".


The worksheet preview will then appear as a Pdf preview.


  • Close the preview.
  • Click on "Create Template Run" which will now be available.
  • Click on "Yes" in the confirmation window.


The following message and options will appear:



  • "Print Template" (opens print options discussed earlier in this article). 
  • "Order Another" (takes you to the "Order a New Template" screen where the "create a new template" process can be repeated).
  • "View Ordered Templates" (takes you to the initial worksheet screen and list).



Scanning and Linking the Worksheet to Request using the Image Station & Capture Screen


Once resulted, the worksheet can be scanned with the preLink Image Station, which recognizes the barcode and will link it to the request, where after it can then be included on the Results/request screen.

  • First scan the document using the lab scanner and the Image Station.
  • After scanning, open preLink and select "Capture" on the menu bar, or click on the rectangle orange Capture shortcut on the dashboard.
  • In the capture screen there will be a message stating that the request number of the document scanned is already on the system and asks if you would like to add it.
  • Click on the option to add the image to the request.


Note: If the barcode is not recognized, enter the barcode/request number manually.
